No Jackson County 24-Hour Feed
Sheriff Shawn Haken's office publishes a current jail-roster PDF, not a rolling list of releases. The official roster landing page offers one embedded folder for the current file. It has no control for “released today,” no 24-hour archive, and no promised period in which a released person remains visible. No official Sheriff jail-information or recent-release mobile app was found either. Minnesota VINE is a separate statewide service, not a county app.
For a person believed to have left Jackson County Jail today, use the official Jackson County jail roster only to establish the current published snapshot. Then check Minnesota VINE for a custody event and ask the Sheriff for the release or transfer entry. The county’s public data, not a comparison of two PDF files, can supply the exact date, time, and legal basis.
Check Jackson County Releases Today
A same-day inquiry works best when it follows the custody trail. Record the person’s full name and any reliable booking or case detail first. A narrow request helps the Sheriff locate the correct booking and keeps two people with similar names from being confused.
- Open the Jackson County current roster and note the edition timestamp. If the name appears, that supports custody as of that data cycle, not necessarily at the moment of the search.

Jackson County Roster Timing Gap
Jackson County discloses a specific roster pipeline. The PDF is generated at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central, with uploads targeted by 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. That is a twice-daily publication cycle, not a real-time custody screen. Jackson County Release or Transfer
“Off the roster” and “released to the community” are not equal. A bond release, court-order release, or completed local sentence may return a person to the community, often with case conditions. VINE may also use “unsupervised custody” for work release or electronic home monitoring. That phrase should not be converted to unconditional discharge. A “record purged” notice may explain disappearance from a search, but it is not release proof.
Jackson County Conditional Release Trail
Jackson County has operated a Pretrial Release Program since 2015. County Court Services reported nearly 70 evaluations in 2023 and adopted the Minnesota Pretrial Assessment Tool, Revised, in 2024. An agent interviews the detained person, and the court uses that work when it sets tailored conditions. Those conditions can include testing, electronic monitoring, weekly reporting, or no contact.
This creates a useful same-day trail outside the roster. MCRO may show a bond or release order, while Court Services records can reflect supervision tied to the court’s terms. Neither source replaces the Sheriff’s physical exit record. Instead, the court event explains the legal path and the Sheriff entry confirms when Jackson County custody ended. A person can also remain held on another case or warrant after a release order in one file.
Note: Conditional release can leave both a court record and a Court Services trail after the current jail roster changes.
Request Jackson County Release Data
The Jackson County Record/Report Request is the clearest fallback when no same-day feed exists. Ask for the public adult booking and custody record for the person and date range. Minnesota public-data rules make inspection free. The county schedule distinguishes paper, scanned, and already-digital delivery, so request an estimate before copies are made. Exact written fields prevent a same-day roster change from being mislabeled.
Widen a Jackson County Release Check
