Information You Submit
Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. Jackson County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and supplied contact details may be retained long enough to respond. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Information Collected Automatically
Ordinary technical records may be created when a page loads. Depending on the service in use, those records can include:
- the connecting IP address;
- browser name and version;
- device class and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when available; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and support some features. A browser can block or remove them, though parts of the site may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports the operation and improvement of the service.
- Keep pages available and responsive.
- Send search requests to the selected partner.
- Measure which material visitors use.
- Find errors and resolve technical faults.
- Present advertising that may reflect user interests.
Websites Outside Our Control
Links may lead to Jackson County records, Minnesota corrections pages, court portals, federal locators, or outside search tools. The destination's own privacy terms apply after a visitor leaves this site.
Advertising providers may use their systems to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking is governed by the provider, not by this site's internal records.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed only as needed to the following kinds of recipients:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information within our control. No internet service, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure, so a breach-proof result cannot be guaranteed.
Adults Only
The site is intended for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a minor. A parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request deletion if a child submitted information.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and technical limits, a person may ask us to:
- provide a copy of personal data we hold;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- erase eligible personal information; or
- stop certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as the site or its services change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
